In 1990 I had a discussion with a sixth grade Christian school class about the Hollywood production Home Alone, which all but one of the students had seen. Other than "one bad word," all the students thought the movie was "wonderful." Secular fiction had invaded their lives, and already was convincing them that "life without God," even filled with sinful activities and speech (made to look much less serious through comedy), was really not so bad after all. With this kind of "mental training" I should not have been surprised when very few had any interest in serving the Lord after graduating from high school. In this booklet, take a look at the "brass tacks" of secular fiction in books, videos, cartoons, etc. and their influence on our children.
